My Story

My name is Brigitta Kravalik. I am a Counsellor and a Dance/Movement Therapist.
I was born and raised in Budapest, Hungary. I graduated from the Hungarian Dance Academy with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance Pedagogy. After many years of professional dance, teaching dance, as well as recreational and therapeutic dance, I obtained a post-graduate, specialised degree in Dance and Movement Therapy from the University of Pecs in Hungary.

For over 20 years, I worked with clients from many countries in Europe. I then lived in Bali, Asia where I met my husband and I immigrated to Canada in 2016. After living in Vancouver for a few years, I have been happy to find my new home in Osoyoos and to continue the expansion of my practice providing Dance and Movement Therapy sessions in the cozy, intimate upstairs studio of the Sunshine Valley Family Chiropractic Clinic.  



I work with clients from a holistic perspective considering the mind, body, and spirit as a single principle. My mission is to help people to live their healthiest life possible as mental health is an important part of it. My work is very much science based as one of my favorite things to do is learning about the newest research that I can build into my work.

What is Dance & Movement Therapy

Dance and Movement Therapy is a type of Psychotherapy that is primarily movement-based therapy and is intended to help people improve and maintain their mental health and well-being. It promotes physical, spiritual, cognitive, and emotional development. This type of therapy is suitable for people of all ages, and it is particularly helpful for people with mental and emotional health needs.

Movement is our basic, first form of communication. Our body posture and movement directly reflect how we feel and how our life story is embodied. All of our conscious and unconscious childhood memories are stored in our cells in our body. Perceiving, accepting, and moving the body in a new way helps us by living our life story in a new way.  Dance and Movement uses embodiment, somatics, inquiry and movement for unrivaled self-discovery, self-awareness, and transformation.  Dance and Movement explores the possibilities as well as the healing and creative powers inherent in movement and body perception.
