My Story

Hi Everyone!

My name is Jenelle Zapski and I am thrilled to be returning to Osoyoos to provide physiotherapy services as the newest member of the SVFC team!  I was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology degree and subsequently a Master of Physical Therapy degree. Throughout my schooling I conducted research regarding chronic pain and exercise and was awarded the Marjorie Braid Award for academic proficiency in the area of Orthopedics (the study of bones, joints, and muscles).

During my time at the U of S I was a member of the University of Saskatchewan Huskie Women’s Soccer Team and I even hold a few scoring records for my athletic accomplishments with the program! Unfortunately, after my 4th season with the team I was side-lined with an injury that caused me to miss three seasons. During this time I struggled with chronic pain and the mental/emotional challenges that follow. After my body healed, I was later diagnosed with a systemic autoimmune inflammatory condition that I continue to manage with to this day. I ultimately made it back onto the soccer field and finished my final season of eligibility and am so grateful for my persistent team of physiotherapists, chiropractors, and strength and conditioning coaches. It is through this journey that I truly gained a passion for helping others with a holistic, hands-on approach to rehabilitation.

Since graduation I have taken advanced education in movement analysis, concussion management, and AN-IMS/Dry needling (anatomic neuropathic intramuscular stimulation). I’m also currently working towards my Sport Physio Diploma! I have been practicing in the Okanagan since 2019 and I have worked with a wide range of individuals including those with chronic pain, recreational injuries, musculoskeletal injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, vestibular/dizziness issues, and even high-performance athletes from the Canadian Freestyle Ski Team. In addition to my role at SVFC, I also hold a casual position at Penticton Regional Hospital where I frequently work with individuals immediately after their Total Knee Replacements and Total Hip Replacements to facilitate a smooth transition home from the hospital after surgery.

I pride myself on providing the highest quality, evidence-based care and can't wait to help you reach your goals, move better, and feel better!

I'm always looking for new and exciting opportunities. Let's connect.
