My Story

Hi Everyone!

I am a Registered Social Worker with over a decade of experience in the human services field, supporting individuals, families, and communities across a wide range of settings. My work is grounded in a deep respect for human dignity and a commitment to advocating for those who are often underserved or misunderstood.

As a Human Rights Advocate and former owner of Freedom on Wheels, I have spent years working alongside persons
with disabilities, challenging stigma, and helping shift perceptions around what it means to live with a disability. This work
continues to shape my approach today—one that is rooted in inclusion, equity, and empowerment.

I have experience working within interdisciplinary healthcare settings, where I have supported individuals and families
navigating complex life circumstances. My work includes psychosocial assessment, counselling, and care planning. I also
have experience supporting individuals in vulnerable situations.

Throughout my career, I have worked as an addictions counsellor, group facilitator, instructor, and wellness coach. I bring a broad and adaptable skill-set, drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT),
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

I take a client-centered, strengths-based, and collaborative approach to counselling while working alongside each person
to identify meaningful goals, build on existing strengths, and develop practical strategies to improve overall wellbeing.
Whether supporting someone through a difficult life transition, working on emotional regulation, or helping clients create
balance in their daily lives, my focus is always on helping people move forward in a way that feels authentic and
sustainable.

I am passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of those I work with and am dedicated to contributing
positively to the community of Osoyoos, where I have lived in since 2022.
